Join us for a Book Launch Party
Join Red Line Service for a launch party of Voices from the Margins, Vol. II: Present Within the Stream of Life, the second in a series of books authored by people with lived expertise in houselessness and housing insecurity. Inspired and propelled by the Terra Foundation for American Art's Art Design Chicago Now initiative, each of these essays engages with Chicago's art, artists, architecture, and design to reimagine what art history can be if we make room for all voices within it. Enjoy refreshments, a meet and greet with and a celebration of Red Line Service talented authors.
Special Guest Speaker Livy Onalee Snyder, writer and editor, Sixty Inches from Center
Red Line Service is led by people with a lived experience of being unhoused. Red Line Service wields art world resources to build community, generating the sense of belonging and mutual care essential to securing and retaining housing. We collaborate with artists and cultural institutions to expand access to the art world, avowing that art can break the bonds of ingrained social roles and structures and forge new realities in which all can flourish.
The Art Histories Series programming and writing workshops that led to the publication of this book were generously supported by the Terra Foundation for American Art's Art Design Chicago Now initiative.
